CD Packaging. (Self Promo)

To promote my images i would like to make up a portfolio in CD form. For this packaging would be essential as it would be the first thing that my potential customers would see. I would like to make my packaging unique so that people would remember it and enjoy taking a look at my images.

Front cover:
For the front cover i would have a plain black background and have my logo standing out in plain white text to give it a professional edge.

Inside:
Inside i would have a pop up image to the side of the CD, this would come up as soon as the case was opened and be the first thing that the user would see. Also i would have an image behind where the CD was sat to give the user something else to look at.

Heavy Industry Assignment

For heavy industry we had to decide an individual way to photograph and present our images. I decided to take pictures of the reflection of an image from a compact mirror and change them to black and white to give them an aged effect. I mounted my pictures on a mirror to further continue the "reflection" theme, it also makes the viewer feel part of the picture.

fri 17th

On friday the 17th we started to use photoshop,the first image is before we learned to crop and adjust the resolution of an image. The second has had a few minor adjustments.

Logo

Last Week in photoshop we made logos using different layers, the logos were created to use on our different sites such as twitter, flicker and blogger.

Photoshop

In photoshop we learnt how make specific selections using the magnetic lasso tool. We first cut out the jumping girl and once we were happy with our first selection we used the quick mask button to make our selection neater.











The red outline displays what you haven't selected, and everything in colour is your selection. On this mode you can neaten up your initial selection.

I particually like this image because of the colours. They give the overall photo a calming and serene feel. I like the slight shillouette look to the picture, it adds a very calming feel to the photo.

Okay so this might be a lengthy blog but hey, it has to be done. Basically for the last few weeks we have been learning new techniques in photoshop, for example cropping and adjusting images, creating logos, pixels, image resolution and everything. As we are only learning the basics and will have to brush up on our skills at a later date. We have also been singing up to various sites, such as flicker, tumbler, twitter and evidently blogger. This is  to give us the best possible chance to show off our work. I enjoy twitter more than most, probably because it's easier and I can't really mess it up with my technology repelling skills. But for now thats seems to have covered most of the things we have been doing, now if you'll excuse me I have to go sleep.

Photoshop 2

Today we were learning how to copy and insert images on top of other images, as well as doing this i played with the levels and changed an earlier photo into different colours.
