My assignment was to successfully promote myself as a photographer by designing and making products that i could easily hand out to members of the public.
I started out making business cards that contained all the relevant information so that if customers needed to contact me they could do so easily. To display these cards i would hand them out to local shops and ask them to display them on a board, i think this would be a good idea as they would be in clear view on people looking. I think my business cards are well designed as they are simple, easy to read and you can find all the relevant information quickly.
Secondly i designed a pen that i could send out to previous and enquiring customers as a way of promotion, this would be a good idea as its an easy and efficient way to promote myself.
Thirdly i designed a notepad that i could use when i sent letters to potential customers, this would be a good way as it gives a personal touch and people are more likely to reinforce them to look at my websites.
My intended audience is that of couples and the older generation as they are more likely to be supportive and interested in upcoming businesses. I would specifically target the wedding market as i think my designs are more suited for them.
review on other peoples work
One person in my class made a goodie bag that he would supply to his customers after they had ordered work from him. I think this was a very good idea as it could be easily personalised and specific to each customer. He also made a calendar which enabled the customer to add their own photos, this was a good idea as it would interest other people to look at it. His target audience for the goodie bag were high paying customers who payed him to take pictures for a wedding or something of the like.
Another idea i like was a booklet of photographs, i thought that this was a good idea as it displays the capabilities as a photographer and would make more people interested in hiring her as a photographer as they can see what sort of work she can produce.
Over all my promtion products cost £13.75
The most cost effective product i got were my business cards as they were free you only had to pay 3.50 for postage. You got 250 cards so each card worked out at approx 1.4pence.

I like the layout and colours in this gallery, it gives a very Greek feel and i especially like the fact that they are all framed in gold as it gives a nice timed atmosphere. The mixture of wall hung art and floor based art is really nice.
I like the mixture of levels in this gallery, it is very aesthetically pleasing and gives the viewer a lot more to look at. I also like the way that everything is hung differently yet it all seems to fit together perfectly well.
